About us
The Trattoria Vittoria da Aldo is located in Campo San Geremia, a few steps from Guglie Bridge, in the Cannaregio district, one of the liveliest and most genuine areas of Venice.
The trattoria is run by the same family since 1962. The founder is Aldo Cosma, a chef who worked and trained in the historic Venetian restaurants of the San Marco area, between the 40's and 50's. For over twenty years it has been run by his daughter Lucia along with her husband Vincenzo and their son Roberto. Given its proximity to the railway station, in the 20's the trattoria was a popular meeting place with railwaymen on the night shift, particularly French people. To meet their needs, our restaurant became among the first to introduce the prix fixe menu, which later became common throughout the city.
The menu offers a selection of the most authentic traditional Venetian dishes, especially seafood, revisited in a modern way enhancing the Mediterranean flavours and using only the highest-quality seasonal ingredients available daily from our local fish, fruit and vegetable markets. Our hand-picked selection of wines includes local, regional, and international labels, and also a selection of organic wines.
The decor is in a classic and inviting style, bright yet cosy, with a spacious dining room and a second, smaller dining room. During the summer months, you can dine al fresco enjoying the view of the campo and the beautiful church of Santi Geremia and Lucia. The warm welcome of our family and staff will make you feel immediately at home.
From 2011 the Veneto Region has included Trattoria Vittoria on its list of Historic Places of the Veneto, characterised by their artistic, historic, and environmental value.
